The main goal of the “CB RAILWAY” project is the development of a joint strategic investment plan for the connection of the railway networks of Greece and Albania through a new railway link. The missing railway link, which will cross the Greek-Albanian border in the wider area of ​​Krystallopigi – Kapshtice, with a total length of 150 km, will be finalized after the selection of the technically and environmentally optimal alignment of the missing link between the two railway networks.

Services Provided:

• Formulation of strategic policy and planning directions, analysis of the movement of people and goods, determination of future transport demand, investigation of the necessary investments in infrastructure through quantitative and qualitative analysis with stakeholder participation in questionnaires and interviews, as well as through the organisation of round tables, in order to identify the needs to be met by the new railway connection and the conditions for its implementation, which will be used as inputs for the next phases of the project
• Investigation and evaluation of alternative routes, development of scenarios regarding the railway connection in terms of sustainability, technical requirements and costs, identification of suitable development options for the technical project and analysis of alternative investment packages by identifying each one’s environmental footprint
